Silicon Creations offers a customizable low area
padframe complete with ESD protection in standard
CMOS. Many foundaries offer access to standard I/Os.
Unfortunately, the foundary I/Os often consume far more
area than is necessary which can greatly increase die
cost.
A custom I/O and ESD solution can minimize the area
consumed by padframe which can greatly reduce die
cost. Additional benefits of a custom padframe can
include greater bandwidth, increased voltage range
tolerance, or specialized functionality.
