Silicon Creations DC-to-DC Converters
Silicon Creations has designed both switched capacitor and switched inductor DC to DC converters:
- Switched Capacitor: Silicon Creations has designed both above-supply and below -ground switched capacitor voltage generation circuits. For load currents less than several milli-Amps, a switched capacitor design is the way to go.
- Switched Inductor: For larger currents, a switched inductor boost or buck design is the way to go. Silicon Creations has experience with switched inductor designs that can operate in stringent noise environments such as audio applications. For load currents up to a few hundred milli-Amps, a switched inductor design can be easily integrated into a standard CMOS IC with only an external L and C.
